If you love animals and are looking for a place to interact with them, South Korea will give you plenty of opportunities for that. In the last two decades, pet cafés have become so popular that you can find them in any Korean city now. The most popular type of pet café is, undoubtedly, cat café, but if you have a closer look, you will also find many dogs, bunny, birds, and “insert-any-small-cute-animal” cafés in Korea. But some cute animals are too big for cafés and need more space. For example, alpacas - adorable animals famous for their fine wool originating from South America. That’s why few Korean enthusiasts decided to establish the first alpaca farm in Korea, called Alpaca World.

Located in Gangwon-do, Alpaca World is a unique venue where you can meet fluffy alpacas of all colours and sizes. Alpacas are more than happy to play with you, especially if you feed them. Food for alpacas can be bought in special vending machines located all around the farm. These vending machines don’t accept wons, the only currency accepted is the so-called Pacacoin, so make sure to exchange wons to Pacacoins in Pacacoin currency changer machine at the entrance.
강원도에 위치한 알파카 월드는 모든 색과 크기의 푹신한 알파카를 만날 수 있는 독특한 곳입니다. 알파카는 특히 먹이를 주면 기꺼이 함께 놀 수 있습니다. 알파카 음식은 농장 곳곳에 있는 특별 판매기에서 구입할 수 있습니다. 이 자판기는 원화를 받지 않으며, 허용되는 유일한 통화는 소위 Pacacoin이므로 입구에 있는 Pacacoin 환전기에서 원화를 Pacacoins로 환전해야 합니다.
For a one-of-a-kind experience, you can also get your own alpaca friend to have a walk with if you choose Healing Walking service (paid additionally). A walk with an alpaca is believed to calm nerves down and relieve stress. Touch alpaca’s soft fur gently and all of your worries will go away. :)

Alpacas are, for sure, the main stars of this place, but they aren’t the only inhabitants of Alpaca World. Designed as a mini zoo, Alpaca World provides visitors with a chance to meet camels, deer, goats, ponies, bunnies, peacocks, ostriches, and many other animals.
알파카는 확실히 이곳의 주인공이지만 알파카월드의 유일한 주민은 아닙니다. 미니 동물원으로 배치된 알파카월드는 방문객에게 낙타, 사슴, 염소, 조랑말, 토끼, 공작새, 타조 및 기타 많은 동물을 만날 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다.
To remember sweet memories made at Alpaca World there are also small venues where you can get alpaca-themed colouring postcards and colour them the way you want using a huge variety of crayons provided by staff. And that’s all for free!
